Therapy for ambitious professionals

Understand why nothing ever feels like enough

Does this sound familiar?

From the outside it looks like it's going well. You have the life people assume you're enjoying. But inside, it's heavier and harder to carry than you let on.

You replay a conversation from a meeting three days ago. You get feedback that's objectively good, find the one line of criticism, and replay it in your head for a week. You tell yourself you won't check your emails on holiday, and then you check it.

It doesn't just stay at work either. It shows up in how much you have left for the people in your life, and in how little you have left for yourself. Plans get cancelled. Messages go unanswered for days.

You're short with people who've done nothing wrong, or too tired to be there properly, and the weekend is always just recovering from the week.

And there's nowhere to put any of it.

At work it would be seen as not coping. At home you're the one who holds everything together.

Your friends have their own pressures, and you're not going to be the one who makes things heavy.

So you leave it. Other people have real problems. You're fine. You're doing well enough.

Therapy in 5 steps

  1. You get to let it out
For once, all of it has somewhere to go. There’s no need to cope, perform or protect anyone from it. Nobody tries to fix you or tell you what to do, you are listened to properly.

  2. Slow down and look at what it's really like
Most explanations come quickly: "I'm just a perfectionist." Here, the pace drops. What does it feel like when good feedback comes in and can't be taken in? What does the day after look like?

  3. Notice what you rush past
After years of living with something, it stops being visible. A second person in the room can catch the moment the conversation moves on too fast, or the word said without thinking, and stay there a little longer.

  4. Seeing the unspoken rule
Underneath the replaying, the checking and the tiredness, there is usually a rule about what has to be achieved before it's allowed to feel okay. It's been running so long it just feels like how life is. Once it's visible, it stops operating from behind the scenes.

  5. You decide what to do with it
Seeing it doesn't erase the pressures. But there's a real choice now about how to live with it. Some things get let go. Some get kept, on purpose this time.

About Me

I'm Marianthi Kolovopoulos.

My approach is existential-phenomenological, which in plain English means I'm less interested in what's wrong with you than in how you actually experience your life.

Not a formula applied to you, and not a set of techniques. I work to create the conditions where the patterns you've been living inside for years can come into the open, where you can finally look at them properly.

Therapy at its best isn't something done to you. It's something that happens between two people when both are genuinely present.

I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I also hold a Master's degree in Psychology from the University of Sussex, with Distinction, and I'm a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS).

My clinical experience spans more than seven years across private residential settings, Safer London, NHS Talking Therapies and the Claremont Project, and I'm currently completing a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, due to qualify in 2027.

I work with adults on anxiety, self-esteem, relationships and major life transitions, alongside the pressures that come with a demanding career.

Working together

Therapy is a deeply personal process, and finding the right fit matters.

I offer a complimentary 15 minute consultation so we can meet, talk about what brings you to therapy, and see whether working together feels right for you.

Sessions are collaborative and reflective, a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported to explore your experiences at your own pace.

My aim is to create a safe, grounded environment where insight and change can unfold naturally.
